23.03.2008

Well, it seems my earlier post wasn't my last even
I intended it to be. Anyway, the match earlier
today was fun and, as Viper said, brought back
some memories. Viper also told the important
things about it so I won't go into that.

I will just say my thanks to all our old members
who showed up to the last match and helped to
make it a decent one. It wasn't 11 on 11 like
we've had before but considering the maps we
played that wouldn't have been very good anyway.

I guess this is it then, I don't have anything
else to say really. Goodbye all. Keep yourselves
out of trouble and keep on fragging!

23.03.2008

So, today was our final stand in this game called
Action Quake 2. This was the date of our first
game 5 years earlier and it was also the date of
our final traditional birthday match.

We started with junkke2 which was really fun and
relaxed fragging. At first we seemed to have some
trouble with collecting members, but then people
started coming and the game could really start.
Znake's Team got the victory here.

Next, scity2. Once again, same formulae. Lots of
fun fragging, and the map ended with a tie.

Then we moved on to temple and I got to say, it
was really one of the highlights in the game.
Lots of good memories came rushing to my head.
Znake and his team got the victory here too,
but it wasn't actually over yet. The others wanted
to have an encore. So, Znake and I decided to
take one of our old favourites from the shelve:
colt.

Colt was even a greater run down the memory lane.
Great fragging and awesome action and also some
very funny jokes and sequences: that was the
name of the game. Like Znake said: jokes are
flying like bullets - a true Spec Ops feeling.
And others agreed. Colt ended as a victory for my
team, but because we weren't sure whether to
count it or not, we finally decided that the game
was a draw.

Thank you once again to all of those who took part
in the game, it was really fun. Lots of old faces
like Perditus and Fazah made an appearance too,
among with more familiar ones like JezeT, eXit,
Creepy and Worstfear.

So, that was it folks. We had fun in the mode and
I hope that we left a nice memory to all of you.
Our mission was to make every match a nice
experience and try to avoid all kinds of
unsportsmanship conduct. And I think that we
succeeded pretty well.

These were my last lines to these pages, I'm
afraid. The chapter is closing. Nothing much to
say anymore than:

Good bye and thanks!

''Now the sun's gone down to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every clan has to die''

20.03.2008

It is here again... our clan is one year older.
This day isn't like the others were, though. For
this day is the last day of our clan. It was
decided about six months back that we will end it
here and that we have done.

Thank you to all clans who have played against us
and to all players who have played with us. We
wouldn't have been able to survive nearly this
long if you weren't there to do it with us.

As Viper said in the earlier post, we will try to
play our last birthday match next sunday. Hope to
see many of our old members there.

We have also finished writing and checking the
history of our clan. There is a link to it in the
Misc-section. I hope at least those who have been
with us take the time to read it through.

Thank you.

17.03.2008

The last days of Spec Ops are closing down.

Today we played our last ever official clan war.
It was played against rkc^ with a lineup of
ziepro, JezeT, wajokki, Znake and I. I have to
say, it was once again really nice to play
with Znake in the team. Reminded me of the good
old times. Thanks to our old rival rkc^ for a
fun match, we will miss you. : )

Also, our 5th birthday match is getting nearer.
The maps have been decided and junkke2 and
scity2 will be joined by... temple. It's one
of our old secondary home maps and was also
played in our first birthday match way back in
2004.

So the information of our last birthday match:

Date - 23.3.2008

Time - Around 15 o'clock (still negotiable)

Server - Will be confirmed later, but trying to get one of Uni's.

Team leader's - Znake and Viper

Map order - junkke2, scity2, temple

Let's once again have a great match. : )

09.03.2008

Just passing by to inform you that our great
Leader/Founder Znake turned 25 yesterday.

So late birthday wishes to you, my mate!

--Viper

13.02.2008

Hello to the AQ2-scene. Thought about making the
first news item of 2008, just to show you that we
are not dead yet. : )

However the end is starting to get near. We are
slowly approaching our 5th birthday on 20th of
March and, as Znake already told, the birthday
match will be our final stand in this great game.
The match will be played on 23rd since that was
the day we played our first clan war and it
feels right to also end it then. I've been
thinking that this year we could play junkke2 and
scity2 as our maps in the b-match, in addition
to a third map, which will be confirmed later on.

The ending of our chapter in this game has also
made me feel a bit nostalgic. Because of that,
I've started to write the history of Spec Ops,
which will be up here on the website when ready.
Might take a while, but I should have it
written around early March.

Some of our members have also left us, including
tonzah and Fal. But in the light of our current
situation I see it only natural. I hope good for
them and all of the world's AQ2-scene.
Keep on fragging people.

Cheers!

12.12.2007

A few words from me too...
Since we are getting closer to christmas (and
because of Viper's post) I started to think about
the past and the future of our clan.

It's been over four and a half years since we
started this clan and we've had fun. But as Viper
said, we are now just trying to survive until the
end which the two of us have already decided.

Neither of us is interested in playing AQ2 much
anymore so the clan will be taken down at the end
of March next year, our clan thus achieving the
age of five years. Our last game will be the
birthday match some of you might remember from
earlier years.

Viper and I will not go away, though. At least I
will still keep our channel #cso @ QuakeNet under
my control (bot at least) and I think Viper will
drop in as well from time to time. Those who want
to keep closer contact with him will need to ask
him about it.

Well, that's it for now. I'll see some of you on
our IRC-channel... And maybe in AQ2 as well, you
never know ;)

29.11.2007

Good autumn, everyone!

Long time since the last news post, so I wanted
to make one. Although there isn't much to write
about.

We are very much inactive but try still to hang
on alive. Menmberlist isn't the same anymore.
Since the latest update we have lost both eXit
and rOnZu and that wasn't really good for our
activity. One old member though has come back,
RealT-. It's nice to see his name in the roster
again, although he seems to be as inactive as the
rest of the clan. Still, trying to be alive and
kicking. And occasionally try to play a match.
That's the best we can do right now.

Even though we are not active, we still won't
recruit anyone anymore. Sorry, but we don't think
that the clan has a lot time anymore, so we just
try to get to the end by the lineup we have now.

Nothing much to add anymore. Have a nice waiting
for christmas an try to keep yourselves (and the
finnish AQ2-scene) healthy.

Cheers from the merry old England (where I'm
currently studying as an exchange student)!

24.07.2007

A little update of our current situation.

Hill Billies took a dive, so we got rOnZu back.
He is one of our Trustees again. And so is eX1t,
who also made a comeback yeasterday.
Good to see you both again. : )

Our newest recruits have also made our activity
level better. We have played 3 matches during
the last two days, one of them was a victory.
So good things seem to be happening once
again.

One of the changes also include the second home
map, which we changed from scity2 to plaza.
Tried it in a clan war and it seemed to go pretty
well. I don't think that we are going to play it
very much, but it's good to have another option
if our opponent doesn't want to play junkke2.

Our clan meeting, instead, won't happen this
summer. We weren't able to decide good place and
date, so we have to organize it some other time.
Next summer maybe?

--Viper

05.07.2007

Hello everybody. It's Viper here.
Wow, long time since I wrote something. : D

We have been quite inactive for a while because
of the summer. But dead we are not. Just played
a match and although we lost it, it was good to
be back (well, I wasn't playing but cheered my
ass off for the other guys).

Our member list has changed a lot since my last
post. I don't think there is any need to cover up
every change there has been (boy, that would take
a while), so I just make a sum up of the most
important: JezeT is back! Good to see you again,
mate. Hope you stay to the end now. : )
We also lost rOnZu, who is back with the Hill
Billies now. We had a great time with you, good
luck. Maybe we'll see you back in the roster
some day.

We don't have any kinds of plans for this
summer, atleast not right now. We are just going
to lay back and play a match or two some times.
Although there has been some talk about a clan
meeting, but nothing is sure yet.

So have a great summer everybody. Let's hope
we will still be here by the autumn.

23.03.2007

Happy birthday Spec Ops!
Although our clan turned four years tuesday, the
celebrating was saved for this day.
23.3.2003 we played our first clan war, so it
was a good day to have our traditional birthday
match. Once again we played three maps:
187city, monastery and, for the grand finale,
junkke2.

In the beginning there was some problems. We
seemed to have difficulties in collecting enough
players and when we finally got the match to
start, the server (which we were able borrow
from Uitto) crashed after 10 minutes.
Well, quick change to Uni's and the show was on
the road again.

187city went really nice and the rounds were
pretty fast. It was nice fragging but
unfortunately for my team, Znake's group was
able to prevail us by 3.

Then we went to monastery and the same kind of
playing continued. Because of it's bigger size,
the rounds weren't as fast in the earlier map
but it was still very fun and enjoyable.
Except that Znake's team stretched their lead
even bigger.

Junkke2 was the same as last year: fast, fun and
full of excitment. My team started to dominate
the map because of our smarter tactics and better
team work (or because we had a one man advantage
as ConShiel had to go). After the many minutes of
blood, sweat and lead, we counted the scores.
In tears I have to tell you that Znake's Team was
the winner once again, this time by the closest
marginal of 1. But the revenge will come next
year. Beware!

I want to thank all the participants. Once again
it was a nice match and you made it happen.
I also thank those members, old and current, that
didn't make it this time.
And finally I want to show my respect to all of
our members, who have stood with us and made our
clan as good as it is today. I think that
Spec Ops is more than just a clan and without the
help and support of our members and opponents, we
never would have made it this far. Thank You.

So that was our birthday match for the year 2007.
Another one next year?

--Viper

18.03.2007

A little update from me this time...

First of all, we lost zern and Tzi. They said they
didn't feel that our clan was the right place for
them after all. Also, JoniBee left because he
didn't like Junkke2.
No matter, 0tis returned a few days ago to help
in our time of need. Also CreePy^ returned to the
AQ2 scene and asked if he could come back to us.
And today RDL came to ask if he could come back
as well. He has been returned as a full member.

Second, yesterday we got our first victory of the
year against LM//. Been playing a lot against them
it seems, but not many victories so it was nice.

Third, the reason for me posting is, that Viper is
having some problems with his connection due to
some maintenance.

--Znake

14.03.2007

Roster list has been changing and I thought I'll
need to make a newsflash about it. : )

Otis and ziepro ran away, Otis to HBs// and
ziepro to nage's and Sbungi's clan Lifestyle.
Wish you well.

So two new trials were recruited. Pyrppy and
JoniBee joined our roster, let's see will they make it.

Fal, our trusty Webmaster, also turned 19 today.
Happy birthday, man. : D

--Viper

09.03.2007

And now, as I promised, more info about the
upcoming birthday match:

We were planning to play it in 23.03., because
it's the date when we had our first match with our
new clan. Starting time was suppoused to be
somewhere near 17.30 but it's still changeble.
There aren't many changes from the last
year, basic things are once again these:

-Team leaders Znake and I; we'll take turns in
choosing the players for the teams.

-3 maps; one chosen by me, one by Znake and then
junkke2

-Player limit: 20-24 (+ maybe spectator camera)

We don't know about the server yet but the plan
was try to borrow one of the Maggie's from
Farmitiimi.
One of the biggest changes though is that this
time we wre thinking of keeping the match little
more in the inner circle, so we won't make a
thread about it to aq2suomi.com. We will simply
go around and give invitations to former members.

That's about it, might be more info near the
actual day.

...Oh yes, there is one more thing:

Znake, the beloved founder and ubermaster of this
clan, turned 24 yesterday. So let's all
congratulate our very own besserwisser. : D

--Viper

06.03.2007

I think it might be time for a little update:

Wintercup has been going surprisingly well.
Although we lost to ^cSu and @no1, we were able
to take win over :pP: and thus get 3 points.
Still one match to go, versus Amb'. Hope it goes
well. : )

Member list has been changing again.
Rade0n ran away a couple of days ago and
Sbungi and nage left to create their own clan.
Good luck and have fun on the way!
So because of their departure we were open for
a couple of new recruits.
We didn't have to wait long before Tzi came to
ask open slots for him and Zern. Because they
are both old friends we took them in with open
arms.

We are also coming nearer to our clan's 4th
birthday and once again there are plans about a
birthday match. We will inform more about this later.

Not much more right now. Stay healthy and in
school. And don't forget to brush your teeth.
Tha-tha-tha-tha-that's all folks!

--|Viper

14.02.2007

Happy Valentine's Day!

Things are going much better for us right now.
Rade0n and nage are now both members. Furry left
and joined HBs// but luckily we were able to
replace him with a very good player named syce,
also known as esa. He went through his trial
period and is now also a full member.
There still might be some room for 1 or 2
players and we already have a couple of good
options from which to decide.

Scity2 was chosen as our second home map
yesterday and seems to be working just nice.
It has already been played a couple of times
and the results have been positive.

Last but not least, our clan is taking a part in
a winter tournament. The first games start in
17.2., and we will be playing 187city_w as our
map. I already checked our group and it seems
pretty hard. But we'll do our best. : )

--Viper

31.01.2007

We still haven't been able to plug the leak in
the members section. The latest one to leave
the nest is most sadly eXit. : /

But now we have got ourselves some new recruits.
We took nage in as a trial a couple of days ago
and yesterday we also got one of his old clan
mates from VIP, furry. I also took in one very
excited kid, Rade0n. He has been asking in for
some time now and we haven't yet taken him
because of his lack of age. Yesterday I finally
soften up and took him in as a trial.

Cryptile, on the other hand, has been under some
cheat suspicions lately. There has been a couple
of guys telling that he has been using some
cheats, so we kicked him. But now we are not so
sure about the reliability of the source, so we
will try to get in to contact with him.
Let's (once again) see what happens.

We have also been thinking about the second home
map -matter and right now the strongest option
seems to be scity2. We were also able to play
a match last monday, after a week of inactivity.
Who knows. Maybe the things are turning to
better now. : )

--Viper

26.01.2007

The door swinging continues.

The newest runaway is kirpyh, who said he
doesn't like our ''inactivity'' nor our
''rules''. So he decided to follow JezeT and
tonzah and change the firm.

His brother Cryptile, who was taken in a couple
of days ago as a trial, is still staying with us
but his situation is being considered and we're
keeping an eye on him. We don't want to really
close the door for him because of his brother
but it might make some things little awkward and
difficult. We'll see what happens.

We haven't yet decided the new home map but have
some options already. We are also, because of the
instability of the line up, keeping an eye open
for new recruits. There have already been some
inquiries. So if a little lack of activity
doesn't bother you and you're a nice and a laid
back guy (and also Finnish), come to #cso
and /msg me or some of the other opped persons.
I, as the clan's member executive, will handle
the requests.

--Viper

19.01.2007

As Viper said in his posts:

1. We have started to test some maps if one of
them would be better homemap than zoo.

2. Wind makes our memberlist quite unstable.
We have now lost tonzah and JezeT(!?) so we most
likely will be taking in some trials.

--Znake

17.01.2007

Changes yet again.

Lautanen had been showing some bad manner in
matches and I gave him two options: Stop the
whining and shouting in mm1 or leave. He chose
the latter. Kirpyh, on the other hand, was taken
in last week. Welcome, welcome. : )

Sleek also told us that ysek has started to play
Quake again, and wanted us to take him back in.
Needless to say, he was invited with pleasure.
Welcome back, we are happy to see you again. : )

I have already started to write the clan's
history and try to get it done by 20.03.2007,
which will be our clan's 4th birthday.

In sadder news, the scores haven't been very
positive lately. Difficult times might be ahead
but we are still standing tall. And will
hopefully make it to the end of Action Quake 2.

--Viper

12.01.2007

Little update to my latest post:

I found out that Risord plays also in [TT] and
gave him the boot.

Znake and I have also talked about some changes
to our home maps. We decided to change the
default dmflags in junkke2 from 768 to 256.
We hope that it would make the game a bit faster
and more enjoyable. : )
Also zoo hasn't been played much lately, so we
may change it. One option is riot which has been
recommended by tonzah.

Not much more, except that Espoon Blues rules!!!
: D

--Viper

12.01.2007

We still haven't been able to get a stable
lineup and the doors just keep swinging:

RDL decided that it was time for him to taste the
grass on the other side of the fence. So he left
us yesterday and joined frag., which seem to have
lots of our old friends. Good luck and have fun,
Rambo. ; )

Because of the leaving members, we have taken in
some new trials. L@utanen came to ask a trial
place a couple of days ago. He had been running
his own clan, Iron Maiden, but decided to bring
it down. I thought that a guy who likes Iron
Maiden can't be too bad, so we took him in.
Yesterday we also got a new returning friend,
when Kirpyh wanted to try in again. We had
couple of options to think about, but in the end
chose him. So welcome both. : )

Risord has been a little inactive lately, and for
a trial, that's not good news. Unless he doesn't
get some matches played, we have to show him the
door. In good news, I just heard from tonzah that
he is quitting World Of Warcraft and starts being
active again. : )

Let's hope that we get the door swinging stop
somewhere in the near future. But don't worry, I
think we are here to stay (at least for now). : )

--Viper

09.01.2007

And here we go. The first news flash of the
year 2007!

The year has started pretty well. Although
the roster has once again changed a bit:

BaR left us yesterday after a match against
[StN], which didn't seem to go very well for
him. After some whine he left the server.
But no hard feelings. We'll see you in future.
: )

Ziepro, who has been playing as our new trial
for a while, was promoted to member after that
match. He is also a GW-player -like Znake, Am^
JezeT, Worstfear and sbungi- and was recommended
by the latter. So, welcome to the team.

Today I also took a new trial to fill the spot
left by BaR, a guy known simply as Risord.
He is on a trial period for now, let's see how
it works. : )

We have also given some thought for website
changes. Znake asked if Fal could move all the
matches from the years 2003 to 2006 on the same
page, so we could start the new year from a
''clean table'', so to speak. There has also been
some talk about categorising the matches by
year, but let's see what kind of things our
webmaster of puppets will be able to pull out of
his sleeve. : )

I was also thinking about writing some kind of a
clan history. Znake might also take some part in
it. This has been a project I've wanted to do
for a while, but we haven't yet been able to
make it happen. Now, that the clan is reaching
the age of 4, I feel it might be the right time
and will try to find some kind of a gap between
my studies.

Nothing more right now. May your matches be fun
and your whining fertile. : D

--Viper

31.12.2006

I guess I should to say something, too.

Clan had a good year. As Viper said, we reached
300 victories and 1500 matches. The total number
of matches was 353 for this year. Although, we did
have a break from the beginning of April to the
beginning of September.

I also started hosting a small private server for
our clan. We have used it for some of our clan
wars and practice. And we will most likely
continue using it in the future, as well.

Also, as Viper has said, our roster has been kinda
windy all the time but we have been able to stay
active nevertheless.

Also, our maps have been changing a bit since some
players said they've got bored of junkke2. We
tried some maps and now it seems zoo will stay for
a while at least.

Well, that is all from us for the year 2006.
Happy new year everyone and see you in 2007!

--Znake

30.12.2006

Now that New Year is coming, I thought it
would be time for me to post my last news flash
of the year 2006.

There has been some activity in our roster:
Roby and raatokissa left a couple of days ago.
Raato wasn't feeling the same fire anymore and
Roby got frustrated to our ''inactivity''.
Goodbye and good luck. Remember to have
some fun also.
Today I also talked to Dreamtime-. He told me
that he is going to the army in January and is
not sure, will he still continue his career in
Quake. So we came to the decision to let him go.
Good luck to you too. : )

The milestones have been achieved. We have now
300 winnings and have played over 1500 matches.
These are good achievements; well done, boys!

So now we can prepare ourselves for the year
2007. Let's hope it will be as good as this. : )
(And be careful with the rockets, ok!)

--Viper

23.12.2006

Merry Christmas!! (It's almost here.)

Now a little update about our current situation:

We took back one of our old friends, sbungi.
He went through a short trial period and is now
in the team. Welcome back! : )

Bakor, on the other hand, left a couple of days
ago. Good luck and merry christmas to you!
Lets see in the future.

Nothing more right now. Hope you all have a great
christmas and get lots and lots of presents (and
hopefully, give some also).

Oh, by the way. I turned 22 today. Go me! : D

--Viper

17.12.2006

Christmas is coming closer and closer, and so are
couple of mile stones for us:

We have 8 wins to 300 and 28 matches to 1500.
I hope we'll get these numbers as soon as
possible. : )

Roster list has also gone through some changes:

BaR came back from [sEx] yesterday and has done
marvelous job. Welcome back.
I took also a new member yesterday, Roby. He is
only 12 (almost 13), but can sure play this game.
He also seems to be a pretty nice fellow, so we
took him under our wing.
They both had to go through a little trial
period, but it didn't take long from them to
gain full membership. So welcome both! : )

(I seem to have deleted my Independence Day post
from the site. In Finland we have this thing
called TURA!!)

--Viper

13.12.2006

HO HO HO! Christmas is nearing.

Bakor and tonzah made it to full members
last week. Congratulations to both.

Pono went back to [sEx] because he feels that
it's his home. We totally understand. Thanks for
coming by, let's see you in clan wars.

We also got something back from [sEx] in return:
our own sex(it)bomb, eXit.
Nice to have you back. Now don't go anywhere
because we need you. : D

--Viper

05.12.2006

That day of the year again. : (

Two years ago (to the day) we lost our good friend
-so-Clown as he took his own life. To this day,
nobody has been able to find out why. Personally,
I'm troubled by that.

As at least some of you might have noticed, we
honor his passing by not playing any clan wars on
this very day. There might have been things we
could have done, but now this is all we can do.

R.I.P... my old friend. : (

--Znake

04.12.2006

Couple of things have happened in the past two
days:

Seems like plaza2 wasn't such a big hit after
all, so we have voted for zoo to be our new
second home map. Let's hope that everybody
is happy now. : D

No member losses but a couple of adds:

Grrhh was take in as a trial yesterday and now
he is a full member. Vertique was also promoted
to a member couple of days ago. Congratulations
to both.

Today I also took a new trial, Pono, who has
formerly playd for our arch enemy [sEx].
Welcome to the team. : )

--Viper

02.12.2006

I will keep this short this time. Reason is the
party I attended last night.
No, I don't have a hungover, but I am pretty
threnched (you would be too if you had gone to
sleep at 8 a.m)!

We still haven't been able to plug the leak in
our member list, so we lost Tuffe today.
Well, you sure weren't with us for a long time
but thanks for coming by.

To fill the gap, we took one of our old friends,
Mage, back in. He went straight to member.
Welcome to the group. : )

New recruits are possible. We won't let just
anybody in but you can always ask.

01.12.2006

I think there might be a hole in here somewhere
because the roster list is still windy.

PornoVaari left us a couple of days ago.
I have to say, that wasn't such a surprise ; )

Yesterday I also came to the decision to let
apo go. We haven't heard about him for a long
time and I think there's too many inactives in
our roster right now. So good luck to you.
Maybe we'll meet again.

But there has also been some good news too.
I had asked Tuffe to our clan as he didn't
have one. After a little thinking he decided
to join us. We first put him on a trial period,
but it didn't take long for him to gain full
membership. So now we have an aq2suomi
admin in our team. : )

We have also taken two other trials, Vertique
and tonzah. They have both played with us before
and it's nice to have them back, as long as
they remember to behave (that goes double for
you, tonzah). ; )

So after these updates, we have the total of 18
members: 15 active, 3 inactive and 3 on trial
period. This seems a pretty good number and I
don't think that there is any need for more.
But you'll never know...

26.11.2006

As the winter is nearing, our memberlist is
getting very windy.

-

Kroko was the first one who left. And there
hasn't been very good news after his departure.
He was caught cheating just a day after he left
us.

Today we had three more member losses when Fazah,
eXit and Eksori decided to change the firm.
Good luck to all of you and welcome back, if
you choose to return again. : D

So we have lost some members but we have also
gained some. Bakor chose to join our team again
and he is now on trial. We have also asked
various other persons to join. Let's see what
happens.

-

Because of the departure of eXit and Fazah,
Znake and I felt that a new trustee could be
handy. So we promoted Worstfear to that post.
He is one of our longest serving members and also
a great and loyal guy. Congratulations.

PornoVaari was also promoted to a full member
a couple of days ago. Congratulations to him as well.

-

Some of our members started to whine today that
they are sick of junkke2 and want a new map
(those ungrateful little f... *krhm*).
So after a couple of other suggestions we tried
plaza2. It's pretty familiar to Znake and I and
seemed to work to others as well. We have couple
of great snipers in our team, so sniping ability
is also very important, and plaza2 has that too.
So it is now our second home map.

-

And last but not least:
The world of finnish rock suffered a huge loss
when one of the greatest lyricist in the world,
Juice Leskinen, died yesterday. Both Znake and I
have always fancied his songs and he has also
been one of my key influences in writing lyrics.
R.I.P Juice.

''It's up to you if you wither or thrive
But you'll never get out of this life alive''

19.11.2006

Couple of changes has again happened in our
roster list:

Datawolf, who is Znake's IRL-friend, was taken in
a couple of days ago. He hasn't played this game
for a very long time, so it might take him some
time to get used to everything. So far, he has
managed very well.

BaR left us today. Good bye and have fun. Let's
hope you get that temper of your's under control.
We all hope it. ; )

Because of the departure of BaR we took a new
trial, PornoVaari, who is a friend of Kroko's.
He hasn't given a very good impression, but I
chose to give him a chance. Welcome.

--Viper

12.11.2006

Some news about the roster from me this time.

CreePy and osja haven't played much AQ2 lately so
we had a chat with both of them and came to the
conclusion that cooperation has ended.

Dreamtime hadn't been playing much either but he
just had computer problems and doesn't have AQ2
installed yet so we've decided to give him some
more time.

--Znake

05.11.2006

More roster news:

We got back one of our old members, raatokissa.
He had to go through a short trial period, but
now he's a full member. Welcome back. : )

--Viper

05.11.2006

A little bit roster changes:

Mustakana and MsQ left to make their own clan,
TMN. We'll see you around, guys.
It's good that we got JezeT and RDL back from -T-
last week. : )

New recruits are possible, but we'll see.
At least one of Znake's school friends might be
drafted.

--Viper

03.11.2006

Just wanted you all to know that it seems our
little group has now played our 100th cw after
returning from our latest break. This also means
we have now played a total of 1390 matches.
Still some left to 2000 but we're getting closer
all the time. : )

--Znake

09.10.2006

Things have been going great for us. We have won
7 of 10 last played matches and our activity has
improved a lot. I believe it has something to do
with our newest recruits.

BaR^ joined us last week and has been a great
addition to the team. Actionman also came back
for a third stint. Last one wasn't that long so
we (well, I) decided to put him on a trial period
first.

Eksori joined us from -chs-, where he didn't feel
comftorable because of... Well, it's pretty
obvious ; )
He is on a trial period for now, let's see how he
can pull it off.

Autumn is making it's way, so don't forget to use
enough clothes. *Atshii*

--Viper

25.09.2006

Another member lost. RDL left us and joined
Tynnyri because he wanted to play more matches.

--Znake

16.09.2006

Manda kicked due to noobish behavior he has shown
in the last few days.

In other news, CreePy^ went inactive because he
plays more CS than AQ2 these days.

--Znake

09.08.2006

Today I came to the conclusion that it was time
to bring back this clan from hibernation. There
also had been some people asking me from time to
time if I would do this.

In addition I had started to get bored because our
IRC-channel was always so quiet after the clan
went down.

These got me thinking if it was time to do it and
I did. We'll see how it will go. At least, so far
looking good, 17 members and all of them old
friends, over the years, from the game. : )

--Znake

19.04.2006

We are on a break!

Will we ever come back?
Only time can tell...

--Fal

14.04.2006

I will keep this short this time:

Creepy came back and said he got bored in viti
because they were too inactive.

RDL kicked for childish behaviour.

Also, viliho was taken in as a full member.

--Znake

13.04.2006

Our clan has been a little inactive lately, but
we'll still keep it up and running. Some changes
have, although, happened.

First, we lost Kroko and Creepy. Kroko decided
to stop playing AQ (yeah, right!) and Creepy
went to viti. Good luck, and may the force...
Well, you know the rest. : D

We've been looking for members for some time
now, and yesterday we recruited a new trial,
viliho. There is still room for new additions,
but we are again looking for a little more
experienced person. Yet newer players are
possible also. : )

It also seems that the RQ3-section already went
down. I actually was a little afraid of this. : D
But the other sections seem to be still up.
Atleast there hasn't been any news. Good nor
bad. : )

Oh, and one last thing. Happy Easter everybody!

--Viper

07.04.2006

Summer comes, members go.

Manda and fuomi left a message @ IRC saying
they'll go inactive, reasons: irl-relations and
summer. We've seen this coming for a while now.
We have played less and less clan wars.

One other thing that makes our members more
inactive with aq2 is that eXit^ and RDL wanted to
expand our clan first to Reaction Quake3 and now
they have also taken our clan to Day of Defeat and
CounterStrike.

No worries. We will stay around as much as we can.
Viper and I have desided that we will take care of
the aq2 and let others take care of other games.

--Znake

24.03.2006

Some news again:

Ysek quit his quake career yeasterday. Good
luck to your life. It was fun to play with you
but some times things just come to an end. For
all of us.

So, we lost another good player but we'll see if
we get any replacements. So, don't call us. We'll
call you.

And some sports:
Kärpät beat Blues yeasterday in the first
play-off match. Enjoy your victory, 'cause
the revenge will be ours! HUHUHAHAHAAA!!

--Viper

23.03.2006

Despite of what I wrote here earlier, there
has - once again - been some changes in the
member list.

UppoNalle came to Znake yeasterday and said that
he hasn't been very active in the leader's role
and wanted to be a member again. We then promoted
Fal (our Webmaster Of Puppets) and eXit (our own
Antti Tuisku) because they've helped us very
much with the clan's businesses. : )

And yes. I took a new trial. This Exist fellow
had been asking to get in for about a month,
and I thought that there isn't much difference
between 19 and 20. Besides, 20 is an even number.

Yes, yes. I know what I wrote here earlier.
But now the clan is full and no-one gets in
before someone leaves or gets kicked.
(And tomorrow you will find a new trial on the
member list.) ; )

--Viper

21.03.2006

Well, well. Our clan seems to be kind of
addictive. : D

We had three returning members yeasterday: fuomi,
osja and Dreamtime-. They have been running their
own clan, Rukkaset, but it wasn't very stable.
So, after another dive they started to look for a
clan again and came to us. After a little chat,
we chose to make them members again.
Welcome back, guys. : )

Now our team consists 19 players, which is the
absolute limit! So, no new additions before
somebody takes a hike or gets a foot print
on the arse.

--Viper

20.03.2006

Happy Birthday Spec Ops!
Our clan, Special Operations, is now 3 years
old. And, as you can read in my former post, we
once again played a birthday match in our clan's
honour.

Once again, thanks to all of our members. Old
and current. We wouldn't have done it without
you. I respect all those guys who've been
playing with us, although, there hasn't been too
much success or glory. I also thank all the clans
that have played against us. Especially those
who have been honest and fun to play against.

Znake and I have also given thought to the idea
to write something about our clan's history.
You should be able to read it on our website
sometime in the near future. That is, if we
remember to do it and don't feel too lazy. ; )

Well, that's all from me now. Let's try to make
it to the next year. : )

--Viper

19.03.2006

The much discussed birthday match was played
today. It turned out to be a really fun match
and everybody, once again, enjoyed playing in it.
We played three maps: map selected by Znake,
map selected by me, and junkke2. When I pointed
my finger to Assassin, Znake chose Silitex2.

In the beginning, there was some tension, so
Silitex wasn't very fast. But then it loosened up
and the real slaughtering began. I, myself had
a little slow start, having only about 5 frags
in the end of the map, but my team took the
rounds home and it ended +1 to us.

Assassin was also a little slow in the beginning,
but for other reasons. Nobody really knew the
map, which made the game little slow and
careful. But in the end it turned out be quite
fun also. This time it was a draw, so the game
was settled in Junkke2.

When we got there, all the excitment seemed to
explode. All the carefulness was thrown away
and the real fragging began. Znake's Team started
to kick our asses big time, and it turned out to
be quite a slaughter. But very fun one. : D
Both teams started to rush and, I can say, it's
a bit scary when a team of 9 guys starts to bunny
hop towards you. You feel like a raccoon on a
bloody freeway. :D
The map, and the whole game, went to Znake's
team by 31-22.

I want to thank all the players who took part
in this match. And also all those who didn't
make it. Try again next year. : )
To me, Spec Ops is more than a clan. And it
would have gone down years ago without those
fun and loose guys who've stuck with us.
Although, it hasn't always gone so well.
Thank you.

We have also planned a little meeting sometime
in the summer. Let's see, if we can pull it off.

--Viper

08.03.2006

Okay, some news from me too:

Our beloved leader/founder/ubermastah Znake has
turned 23 today. Congratulations, mate.

Our clan's 3rd birthay is also coming nearer.
Znake already wrote almost everything important
about that day, so all I have to say about it is:
I hope that everybody enjoys and we will get an
even but a fun match. : )

--Viper

05.03.2006

I've been busy for a while because of school work
but I think it's time for me to post something.

-

Etana left us a couple of days ago. Told us that
Schema seems to be coming back again and he wants
to play with them.

Today I also got word that zern left us also.

-

We have been getting positive scores lately.
Of ten latest matches we have won five and tied
one. Nicely played, guys! :)

-

Last but not least. We will again be playing a
match in honour of our clan's birthday. This year
we will play it on Sunday, 19 March. We'll use our
own server @ aq2.kaasu.org:27920 so we won't
bother anyone else. :)

Here's what we know so far:

Date: 19 March 2006

Server: aq2.kaasu.org:27920

Max players: 22 or 24 + spectator cam

Team captains: Znake & Viper

Players: All old and current members of Spec Ops
are welcome, no trials, no fakes, no outsiders.

Maps:
First map chosen by Znake,
Second map chosen by Viper,
Third map Junkke2

20.02.2006

Some problems were found in the news adding
system. A couple of minutes of debugging
and it works again.

Need to fix the sites a bit. And then...
Just waiting for tiimipeli.net to work
again.

Added also the advertisement banner that
tiimipeli.net requires.

--Fal

16.02.2006

We are currently having some problems with our website.
Tiimipeli.Net went down a couple of days ago.
They said they are having some hardware problems
which has caused that most of sites have been lost.
We lost scores for few clanwars but
that's not much.

I'm hosting temporary site for now.
